I'm Brian, a professional software developer with over 20 years of experience. I also happen to be obsessed with raising and managing backyard chickens.

When we started with chickens, we were tracking egg production on a whiteboard in our breakfast room. As an app builder, I knew there had to be a better way. So I built the original Flockstar as a fun learning project - initially just to "scratch my own itch".

Over the years, the app has grown far beyond my original plans. What started as a personal tool now serves thousands of poultry enthusiasts in multiple countries.
